Founded in 2000, the Child Research for Action and Development Agency (CRADA) is an NGO based in Kumasi-Ghana. CRADA envisions a just and democratic world where children are heard and potentials are developed to achieve a sustainable livelihood.

CRADA represents children, especially the vulnerable and marginalized children who bear the brunt of poverty, poor educational facilities, ignorance and abuse of their rights due to weak, inconsistent and lack of proactive public policies.

CRADA provides a collaborative and coordinated response to promote and protect the rights of the child as enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

CRADA Group works with local government agencies and their relevant departments, community-based organizations, the private sector, families, civil society organizations, non-governmental organizations and individuals, etc. to ensure that the ideals and principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child are upheld Become reality. It is among the few proactive organizations in Ghana working strenuously to translate their concerns for youth, women and especially children into practical activities to curb the many issues that hamper their development in the most disadvantaged rural and urban communities.

An important part of our approach is the conscious involvement of the communities themselves in the response, design and implementation of projects. The CRADA Group thus responds to municipal initiatives and needs in the sense of helping people to help themselves.

To support the government of Ghana’s drive to build and improve the welfare of all children and young people, particularly those in the rural and urban most disadvantaged communities to become more responsive, more interactive and more relevant to the socio-economic realities and nation aspiration.

CRADA represent children, especially the vulnerable and marginalized ones in society Of The World.

1. Children have the right to basic social services such as an integrated package of basic education, good quality accessible and relevant health care delivery, nutrition, safe drinking water and sanitation, and those marginalized because of lack of livelihood; disability or gender needs to have the same opportunity as others.

2.Children have the right to necessary information and services to help avoid HIV/AIDS and other sex-related infections.

3.Children affected by, infected with or made orphaned by HIV/AIDS need to be supported and cared for in their own families/communities rather than institutions.

4.Children have the right to be protected against any form of exploitation whatsoever, that seriously undermines its full development potential.

5.Children have the right to grow up within a loving, caring and enabling family environment and not working in plantations, malingering on the streets as prostitutes nor as victims in tragedies beyond their control.

6.The girl-child should face no discrimination whatsoever that often threatens her life and well-being thereby undermining her potential.

1. CRADA Group believes that development is not just a condition defined by what people have, but also, and more importantly, is a capacity defined by what they can and are willing to do. Thus, CRADA Group believes that development is an inclusive process – personal, communal and global, which is achieved through commitment, perseverance and altruism and not given as a memento.
